While our trained staff and volunteers make every effort to offer helpful and compassionate guidance, NVPH expressly disclaims any liability for future actions taken or not taken by individuals who contact our hotline.

NVPH, its staff, volunteers, board members, affiliates, and partners are not responsible for any harm, injury, loss, or damages resulting from the use of our services or from any decisions, actions, or behaviors of callers, whether during or after contact with the hotline. Use of this service is entirely at the caller’s own risk.

By contacting NVPH, callers acknowledge and agree that NVPH bears no legal responsibility or liability for the future actions or inactions of any individual who contacts or is discussed on the hotline.

Section 2: Disclaimer of Warranties
The National Violence Prevention Hotline makes no representations or warranties, express or implied, regarding the effectiveness, outcomes, or results of the counseling services provided. The hotline is intended as a supportive, resourceful service and does not guarantee that its interventions will prevent harm or violence, or produce any specific result.

Use of the hotline’s services is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. NVPH disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to warranties of fitness for a particular purpose, effectiveness, or outcome.

Section 3: No Legal Advice
The National Violence Prevention Hotline does not provide legal advice. Any information or guidance provided by NVPH staff, volunteers, or resources is intended for general informational and supportive purposes only and should not be considered legal counsel or a substitute for advice from a licensed attorney.

Callers should consult with qualified legal professionals for legal advice, representation, or interpretation of applicable laws.

Section 4: Confidentiality Disclaimer
The National Violence Prevention Hotline upholds the privacy and confidentiality of those who contact our service. However, NVPH cannot guarantee absolute confidentiality in all circumstances because certain situations may legally require
NVPH to disclose information, including but not limited to:

  • If there is a credible and imminent threat of serious harm to the caller or others
  • Suspected child abuse or neglect
  • Suspected abuse or exploitation of a vulnerable adult
  • When otherwise required by law, court order, or legal process

 

In these cases, NVPH reserves the right to notify appropriate authorities or individuals as mandated by law.

By contacting NVPH, you acknowledge and accept these confidentiality limitations and consent to such disclosures if deemed necessary under applicable laws.
