Make a Donation To Support The Cause

Donations are more crucial now than ever, as federal funding for vital lifeline services continues to decline. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, every donation is tax-deductible and 100% of funds go toward hotline operations, counselor training, and outreach efforts. Want to see how donations are used? Want to be a Valued Volunteer?

Volunteering with the Violence Prevention Hotline is an opportunity to make a real difference by supporting individuals who are struggling with violent thoughts or urges before they cause harm. As a volunteer, you’ll receive training to provide compassionate, nonjudgmental support and help connect people with resources that can change the course of their lives. If you’re passionate about creating safer communities and believe in the power of early intervention, we’d love to have you join our team.

Read the NVPH Statement of Action

Violence impacts millions of people each year. Yet, a great deal of violence is preventable. The National Violence Prevention Hotline (NVPH) offers free support with the goal of preventing individuals from committing violent acts. While there are existing hotlines for suicide prevention, domestic violence, and other crises, there is currently no dedicated resource focused specifically on preventing acts of violence before they occur. To learn more about our mission, read the full statement of action.

Contact Your Local Representative

Reaching out respectfully to your local representatives is one of the most powerful ways to drive real, lasting change. When enough voices come together to demand action, policymakers take notice and are more likely to prioritize important issues. By messaging your representatives, you help bring critical concerns—like violence prevention—to the forefront and push for the official changes our communities desperately need.
