Budget Breakdown for Pilot Program

  1. Coordinator(s): 25%
The coordinator(s) will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations, managing counselors, handling partnerships, and ensuring that the hotline is running smoothly. Since this role is vital for the program’s success, it accounts for a significant portion of the budget. Coordinators will also play a key role in collecting data and refining processes during the pilot.

  2. Remote Counselors: 40%
Counselors are the backbone of the hotline, providing direct intervention and support. Since the hotline’s purpose is to address and de-escalate potential violence, a large percentage of the operational expenses goes toward hiring, training, and compensating remote counselors who will be available 24/7.

  3. Computer System: 10%
The computer system will serve as the backbone of the technology infrastructure, enabling counselors to document cases, track progress, and manage reporting. This includes software for case management, secure data storage, and communications tools to keep everything integrated and functional.

  4. Phone System: 10%
A reliable, secure phone system is crucial for handling incoming calls, managing call volumes, and ensuring 24/7 access. This will include phone lines, routing, and backups to ensure the system is up and running at all times.

  5. AdSpend: 15%
One of the most critical components to our hotline’s success is people knowing that it exists, making ad spend essential. Therefore, a dedicated portion of the budget will go toward effective advertising and outreach. This includes digital marketing, partnerships with relevant organizations, and community engagement. Specifically, the majority of ad spend will fund Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Advertisements that target certain chat rooms and platforms where potential perpetrators are known to spend time. Additionally, investigations into violent tragedies have revealed data on the topics that perpetrators often search online before committing their heinous acts, as shown by analyzed browser search histories. To intervene proactively, the hotline will also leverage SEO advertisements targeting these frequently searched keywords, ensuring that potential perpetrators encounter the hotline as a resource. Ultimately, SEO ads have the potential to be lifesaving, offering a critical chance to prevent violence before it happens.
